Diversity: The Value of Mutual Respect
This online diversity training course, which was developed to encourage employees to think about their own personality style, provides guidelines and action words to open doors and contains an interactive tool to help employees deal with co-workers who "drive them crazy." The course will help improve your organization's bottom line by dissolving communication barriers and organizational bottlenecks and encouraging employees to be more respectful of each other.
Recognizing the traditional components of diversity, such as culture, gender, race, religion, age, national origin and disability, is important to understanding diversity's role in the workplace.
They are not, however, the only factors that must be considered. Every individual in your organization should understand workplace diversity through the screen of their individual personality style. This course teaches your employees that all of these considerations must be addressed, and gives practical advice on how to address them.
Lesson Objectives/Learning Outcomes
- The heart of the course is our unique personality assessment tool, which enables participants to determine their personality styles. Employees are provided with an assessment of their personality styles and, most importantly, they receive positive suggestions as to how to get along better with others.
- Illustrations show the strengths and vulnerabilities associated with each style. Specific examples are provided to demonstrate that strengths overused can become weaknesses. The course teaches employees that differences between employees in the workplace cause workplace tension and impact on productivity and morale.
- By modifying behavior when appropriate, employees will be able to maintain constructive working relationships with others. Employees will learn that the reason most lawsuits are filed is more closely correlated with respect than with discriminatory factors. Employees will be more likely to be sensitive to "perceptions" of fairness and be able to work more effectively with others.
